Von Carcassonne aus weiter nordöstlich durch die Ausläufer der Cevennen bis nach Millau zu der weltbekannten Autobahnbrücke. Für die eigenen Aufnahmen hatte ich bei der Tourenplanung einen schönen Aussichtspunkt eingeplant.
Das "Viaduc de Millau" ist die längste Schrägseilbrücke der Welt. Die Länge beträgt 2460 m und die höchste Pfeilerhöhe 343 m und bei der Einweihung im Dezember 2004 das höchste Bauwerk Frankreichs. Die Kosten sollen ca. 400 Mio Euro betragen haben und sich bis zum Jahr 2079 durch die Brückenmaunt (ca. 10 € pro Überfahrt) amortisiert haben.
Der kurze Abstecher unter die Brücke blieb für uns zum Glück Mautfrei :)
From Carcassonne continue north-east through the foothills of the Cévennes to Millau to the world-famous motorway bridge. For the own recordings I had planned a nice vantage point during the tour planning.
The "Millau Viaduct" is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world. The length is 2460 m and the highest pier height 343 m and at the inauguration in December 2004, the tallest structure in France. The costs should have amounted to about 400 million euros and have amortized by the year 2079 by the bridge Maunt (about 10 € per crossing).
The short detour under the bridge remained toll-free for us :)
